The Event and Wedding – Planning & Co-Ordination – Level 4 Course has been specially commissioned from a highly successful and experienced Event Planner to reflect the changing nature of this demanding yet rewarding sector.
This is a course for those who are keen to work at a high level of responsibility, and who have a good level of literacy and a broad educational background. Starting your own business is a brave and exciting decision to make. The home study courses provide a look at the day-to-day reality of running a business and outlines the skills and qualities that you will need. Event Management and Wedding Planning involve the ability to be creative, communicate effectively and run a business all at the same time. Your success will depend on your ability to search out and take advantage of opportunities – but does come with a certain amount of risk attached. We will identify the specific skills that you will need to work in this demanding sector and work with you to develop those skills through the support of our experienced tutors.

As this is a Level 4 course, we will expect applicants to have evidence of successful study or relevant experience at Level 3 or equivalent. A good level of literacy is also a requirement if the extended assignment work is to be completed successfully.
You can start this course at any time, and you would be registered for a one-year period. You also have access to a personal tutor who can be contacted by email. Your tutor is available to assist with any queries and to mark your assignments for the Awarding Body.
As the course is self-study, you can complete it as quickly as you like. Support extensions are available if students do not complete the course within the one-year period.
You will be assessed on TMAs (Tutor Marked Assignments). Most TMAs consists of short paragraph answers, although some TMAs may have a specific word count. The main criteria to pass as assignment is to prove to the tutor that you have fully understood the question and have answered it sufficiently.
If the assignment is not of the required level or needs an amendment it will be detailed in your tutor feedback so you can make any required changes. The course tutor will be happy to give guidance as to how you might improve you answers. Your work can be sent back to your course tutor by email or by post.
At the end of this course successful learners will receive a Certificate of Achievement from ABC Awards and Certa Awards and a Learner Unit Summary (which lists the components the learner has completed as part of the course).
The course has been endorsed under the ABC Awards and Certa Awards Quality Licence Scheme. The completion of this course alone does not lead to a regulated qualification* but may be used as evidence of knowledge and skills gained.
