Positive Dementia Care – Level 2 Course

£ 251.37

Distance Learning Centre's dementia care course is perfect for those either interested in or currently engaged in a residential care/nursing environment.

Course Description

The Positive Dementia Care – Level 2 Course is designed for individuals who are interested in, or currently engaged in, a nursing/residential care environment. The Positive Dementia Care course explains facts about dementia and will show students how they can combine key ingredients of people-centred care in order to improve the daily life of those affected by dementia.

To provide excellent quality care, care-staff will learn to recognise people with dementia as whole individuals, and understand all the needs that sufferers with varying conditions have. Dementia itself is not a single actual disease or illness, but is an umbrella term used to describe lots of different types of conditions, all of which have one thing in common; they attack and destroy the cells in the brains of people with a dementia.

On successful completion of this course students will receive an endorsed Level 2 Certificate of Achievement from ABC Awards and Certa Awards.
